Hindsight is effortless, and being the person who writes a hate filled note thinking some how they will shame or punish these parents is ridiculous. Compassion costs you nothing, and it may in some small way make the days these families will spend trying handle the pain and immense tragedy just a tad more bearable. God forbid you are the one in need of that same compassion. In our friends' case that 10 minutes will cost them as the majority of us will never understand. They offer no excuses, but each day they remain loving, devoted parents who would trade places in a heart beat if they were able to.
